Testimonials & case studies

Recent jobs, with the numbers.

A handful of recent cleanings across restaurants, grocers, convenience stores, and cold-storage. What the place looked like before we got there, what we did, and what it saved them.

★★★★★

Our walk-in was running 24/7 and still couldn't hold 3°C. After Happy Cooler's visit the compressor cycles normally and our electric bill dropped $380 the next month.

They showed up when they said they would, cleaned every unit including the rooftop condenser nobody had touched in years, and sent a full photo report. Rare.

Health inspector cited us for dust on our prep-table coils. Happy Cooler came out the next morning, cleaned everything, and sent me the photos to include in our re-inspection packet. Passed.

We lost a freezer full of inventory last summer because a compressor overheated. Signed a PM contract after that. It's paid for itself several times over.

The techs are polite, clean, and actually explain what they found. They showed me a time-lapse of the before/after on our main condenser. Night and day.

Before & after: the numbers

Actual results from three recent clients. Names lightly anonymized, numbers pulled straight from utility bills and our service reports.

Trattoria cuts $4,560 in annual energy costs

Challenge: 14-year-old walk-in cooler couldn't hold 3°C during summer service. Compressor running nonstop. Owner was days away from replacing the unit for $18,000.

What we did: Found 3/8" of compacted dust and grease on the condenser coil and a partially blocked drain line. Foamed the coils, combed the fins, cleared the drain, and balanced the fan blades.

Result: Walk-in hit 2°C within 2 hours and now cycles normally. Monthly kWh dropped 18%. No compressor replacement needed.

Independent grocer prevents $22k inventory loss

Challenge: Open-air dairy case tripped its high-temp alarm twice in one week. Owner feared a repeat of the previous summer's inventory loss. Existing PM vendor had "cleaned" the coils a month earlier.

What we did: Full-site audit of all 34 refrigeration units. Discovered seven rooftop condensers with fins 80%+ blocked by cottonwood fluff and grease. Cleaned, combed, documented.

Result: Discharge pressures normalized on every unit. Owner signed a quarterly PM contract; zero high-temp alarms in the following 10 months.

Four-store c-store operator drops PM spend 40%

Challenge: Operator was spending $11k/year on emergency refrigeration repairs across four stores, on top of a maintenance contract that only covered break/fix.

What we did: Switched all four stores to a quarterly coil cleaning plan. Each visit includes photo-documented coil cleaning, drain flushing, and a basic airflow check on every unit.

Result: Year-over-year, emergency service calls dropped from 22 to 4. Total refrigeration spend (PM + repairs) dropped 40%.

Commissary kitchen passes re-inspection same week

Challenge: Local health department flagged visible dust and debris on prep-table and reach-in coils. Operator had 14 days to show remediation.

What we did: Same-week site visit. Cleaned and photographed every unit. Delivered a signed service report with before/after photos the operator included in their re-inspection packet.

Result: Re-inspection passed with no deductions. Operator added a twice-yearly PM plan to stay ahead of future citations.
